CBMBA is a volunteer, non-profit organization created in 1983. That's 25 years ago folks! The mission of CBMBA is to promote mountain biking opportunities in the Crested Butte area, which are environmentally sound and socially responsible. CBMBA works to educate cyclists on responsible mountain biking, to advocate for appropriate access and to promote cohesion among trail users. The Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association assists the local US Forest Service, other land agencies and private land owners by coordinating trail work projects, which help repair damage done to trails by mountain bikers and other users.

Why join CBMBA?

~To have a stronger voice representing cyclists in access issues and travel management decisions.
~To give back to the forest
~Trail building instruction and workdays
~Camaraderie, great raffles, food and FREE BEER!

WORKDAYS

There are five or six Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association workdays each cycling season. Trail day volunteers are comprised of dedicated trail enthusiasts, mostly cyclists, though other users often join in. We have co-organized trail days with CBTRA (Colorado Backcountry Trail Riders Alliance). This year (2008) we will team up with the Gunnison County Trail's Commission and RMBL. The volunteers are rewarded for their hard efforts with a number of incentives. New Belgium Brewing Company provides micro-brews for all events and sponsors provide food after workdays. Clif Bar donates snack bars for National Trail's Day. CBMBA enjoys county-wide support from the business community who donate a variety of raffle prizes which are given away at the end of each work event.

EVERYONE WELCOME!
