Good morning and powder day! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on this Powder Tuesday, December 16, 2008. I was more than excited when the second round of this snowstorm began yesterday. In total, we've gotten eight inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, 10 inches in the last 48 hours and upped our 7-day storm total to 28 inches. Since we've opened the mountain, we've gotten 54 significant inches of snow, and that means one thing...we're going to have another fantastic skiing and riding season this year! We've got 5 lifts open to give you access to 41 trails and 329 acres of terrain, 276 of which is groomed to perfection...why else would we call it "Colorado's Best Corduroy?" With 52% of our beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain open on the main mountain, and 100% chance of it snowing all day today, rest assured there will be plenty of powder for everyone! Hey locals, don't forget that the last day of half price lift tickets is tomorrow, December 17th. Crested Butte pass and card holders can purchase half price lift tickets to get in some early skiing without using days on your pass. Bring a friend,and we'll extend the offer to them as well. It's a powder day in the middle of December...pack four or more in your car to park for free, or hop on the bus and dip into the ticket office to take advantage of this great deal.
