The Rock on Ice team returns to Mt. Crested Butte for another carving festival in celebration of the holiday season! Come up and check out some World Champion carvers show you their amazing talents! It's a magical experience that you and your family are certain to enjoy! This two day event will feature a series of ice carving demonstrations and interactive sculptures. A dazzling ice sculpture garden will be create in the outdoor courtyard in the Mountaineer Square. Kids can even have their names carved into their very own block of ice prior to the Saturday night finale which starts at 6:00 and is set to rock n' roll music and a light show! All events are free and fun for the whole family!

Good Morning Skiers and Riders! This is the Crested Butte Mountain Resort snow report for Friday December 19th, and yes it is STILL snowing in Crested Butte! If you've been on the hill lately, then you know how fun it has been, and if you are contemplating hitting the slopes this morning, then you are in for some of the best skiing and riding of the season! Crested Butte Mountain Resort has received over 9 inches of snow in the last 24 hours, 14 inches in the last 48 hours, and 50 inches in the last seven days, bringing our season total up to an incredible 76 inches! We currently have 7 lifts running giving you access to 58 trails and 390 acres of fantastic terrain for you to enjoy! As always you can come up and experience some of "Colorado's Best Corduroy" with 322 acres of meticulously groomed trails for you to ski or ride!
We currently have partly cloudy skies with calmer winds. Snow showers are expected for today and tomorrow with Sunday looking a little on the sunnier side! Temperatures will remain cooler with highs in the lower twenties so don't forget to bundle up! New terrain and lifts will be opening over the weekend and we will keep you posted as we receive new information.
