Happy Friday Folks! This is Crested Butte Mountain Resort's "Whole Lotta Snow" report for December 26th. Yes it is the day after Christmas and I am happy to report that we received 13 new inches of snow in the last 24 hours, giving us a season total of 126 inches! Thanks to Mother Nature for blessing us with such a beautiful, white Christmas! It looks like more snow is in the forecast for today with an 80% chance of precipitation, and a 30% chance of precipitation on Saturday! That sounds like more POWDER skiing over the weekend, so don't miss out on the chance to experience what Colorado skiing and riding is really about! Currently, 97 percent of all the terrain here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort is open! That amounts to 718 glorious acres, 481 of which have been groomed to perfection. Our natural snow depth has reached a fantastic 57 inches! With the opening of the Twister lift today, 14 lifts are currently up and running, and you can expect to ski or ride plenty of POWDER on the hill this morning! If you prefer the groomers, take a ride down Houston because it is our groomer's choice for today! All that powder skiing is sure to work up your appetite!
