Announcements
Good morning everybody! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Monday, January 5, 2009. Yesterday marked a great day at Crested Butte Mountain Resort- not only do we have 100% of our beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain open, we also now have 45% of our infamous extreme terrain accessible to experienced skiers and snowboarders.

With a sturdy base of 57 inches at the top, and a total of 959 acres open, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is officially rocking the 2009 winter season. We have 90 trails open and 14 lifts running to get you there. Although we didn't receive any new snow in the last 24 hours, the 7 inches that we received yesterday brought our total snowfall accumulation to 144 inches...so we've got packed powder and powder stash conditions in every nook and cranny of Mt. Crested Butte.

Here's what the week looks like. We have a chance of snow today, Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the 20's. Thursday, the sun will reappear and temperatures will rise to get us ready for the weekend. Currently, the sky is partly cloudy and I am betting we'll see snow showers throughout the day. In other words, the conditions couldn't be much better here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

Go ahead and make your reservations now by calling Crested Butte Vacations, the official central reservation service for our mountain. The friendly folks at Crested Butte Vacations can give you the inside scoop on the best flight, lodging and lift ticket deals. Call them at 1-800-810-7669.

I have a few updates concerning two lifts on the mountain, which will be closed today. The Teocalli Lift will be closed until further notice; and the Twister Lift will be also be closed Monday-Friday, and will reopen on the weekends. Please be aware of these and other temporary closures as you make your way around the mountain.

Well, besides three more days of snow coming our way, there's plenty to do at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Today, I'd like to feature one of our most unique dining experiences- the Sleigh Ride dinner to Rustica Ristorante. Ride in an open sleigh pulled by a snowcat to the backside of the mountain, where you'll have a fine dining experence, featuring a full bar and a handpicked wine list to complement the evening. Afterwards, wrap up in your scarf and hat and take the sleigh back to the base area. Reservations for our Sleigh Ride dinner are required, so call 970.349.4554 and treat yourself for making it to the New Year!

Well, my New Year's resolution is to get out there and master the bumps. Resolve to Make your way to Crested Butte Mountain Resort, and I'll see you on the hill.
