A happy Tuesday morning to all you skiers and riders out there! Today is Tuesday, January 6, 2009 and with the trace of fresh snow that has fallen in the past 24 hours, it's sure to be another fantastic day at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! An unbelievable 144 inches of snow has already landed on Mt. Crested Butte this season, creating a sturdy 57 inch base. With 100% of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain open and a whopping 60% of the infamous extreme terrain open, you're sure to find any sort of skiing or riding you're after. Take your pick on one of the 14 out of 16 chair lifts open that lead you to 91 diverse trails spread across 1,057 acres, 481 of which are groomed. Temperatures will remain in the upper teens today, rising to the mid 20's by Wednesday. The snow will continue to fall through Friday, then the sun is expected to come out on Saturday. Sounds like a pretty phenomenal week, leading to a remarkable weekend! As you're taking your choice on one of the 14 chair lifts open, keep in mind two lifts will be closed today. The Teocalli Lift will be closed upon further notice; and the Twister Lift will be closed Monday-Friday and will reopen on the weekends. Please be aware of these closings as you make your way around the mountain.
