It's another snow filled day at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, on this Thursday, the 8th of January, 2009. Another 6 inches of snow has fallen in the past 24 hours, making the 48 hour total 10 inches and our season total so far a spectacular 154 inches! The ski patrollers and groomers have opened 1,037 skiable acres, 481 of which are groomed. 91 trails are open, which can be accessed by riding one of the 14 out of 16 scenic chair lifts running. Keep in mind, Teocalli Lift will be closed until further notice, and the Twister Lift will be closed Monday-Friday and will reopen on the weekends. Jibbers, today is your special day! In addition to the 100% of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain that is open, as well as the 60% of extreme terrain open, the DC Superpipe will be open and cut no later than noon today and ready to be ridden on. Practice your drop-ins, 360's or whatever your skis or snowboards having been longing for. From the best groomed runs in the country, to the steepest terrain, to one heck of a superpipe, Crested Butte Mountain Resort has it all! On this partly cloudy Thursday morning, snow is expected to fall throughout the day and into tomorrow, adding on to the already tremendous 57 inch base. Temperatures should stay in the mid 20's today and remain that way through Friday. The sun will make an appearance on Saturday, where temperatures will remain in the low to mid 20's . Then snow is expected to start again on Sunday. From snow to sun to more snow, a perfect weekend is in store for Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
