Good Morning! This is your Crested Butte Mountain Resort snow report for Friday, January 9th! I know all you extreme skiers have been having a blast with all the new extreme terrain openings over the last week! With over 154 inches of snowfall and the continuous opening of new extreme terrain, 2009 is looking fine here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort!

Currently, 16 lifts are up and running. Come up and enjoy yourself today on this fine Friday morning on 91 trails all spread out across 1037 acres of terrain. Sixty eight of those trails have been groomed, so don't forget to take a run down Lower Keystone, because it is our groomer's choice for today! We currently have a natural snow depth of 54 inches. Snow is beginning to fall here at 5:00 am and could continue throughout the day giving us powder and packed powder conditions on the Mountain today!

Now that a bunch of the extreme terrain is open, it's probably a good time to contact Crested Butte Adventure Guides and sign yourself up for an On-Mountain Adventure! Their PSIA/AMGA Certified Guides will help you explore all the terrain Crested Butte Mountain Resort has to offer! These experienced guides will also evaluate your needs and give you a mountain experience you will never forget. They will take you on an adventure on the North Face as well as show you hidden powder stashes on the lower mountain. Guests will be supplied for the day with a backpack and other necessities needed for hiking and exploring the Mountain. Backcountry equipment will also be available for those who are interested in learning how to use it.

Once you've tried this awesome On-Mountain experience, take it to the next level and take advantage of the ULTIMATE Crested Butte Adventure by signing yourself up for a two day, Crested Butte Backcountry Guide! It's a chance for you to ski or ride outside of the ski area! The first day is spent on the Ski Resort learning how to efficiently use backcountry tactics and equipment such as skinning, transceiver use, and safety procedures. The second day will be an adventure exploring the backcountry terrain and pristine powder filled glades that Crested Butte Mountain Guides are intimately familiar with. They will guide you on a beautiful and serene climb through low-angle aspen and pine forests. After the climb you'll be ripping turns for 1500 feet through nothing but untouched, Colorado Powder! For prices on both On-Mountain and Off-Mountain guided tours provided by Crested Butte Adventure Guides, visit the links on our website or call 800 444 9236 to book your next adventure!
