It's a marvelous Monday morning at Crested Butte Mountain Resort as 3 inches of new snow has fallen in the past 24 hours, making the grand total of snowfall so far this season a whopping 160 inches! On this 12th day in January, 2009, light snow and clouds are roaming the skies and are expected to stay that way throughout the rest of the day where temperatures will remain in the low to mid 20's. There is a 30% chance of snow for today and lasting through Wednesday and then Colorado's infamous sun is expected shine brightly on Thursday. On the sturdy 50 inch base, 91 trails are open, that can be accessed by 14 scenic lifts. (Keep in mind Teocalli Lift and Twister Lift will be closed Monday-Friday and will reopen on the weekend.) The groomers have worked diligently throughout the night grooming 481 acres out of the 1,037 ski able acres open-that's 74 groomed trails of Colorado's best corduroy. 100% of our beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain is open. 60% of the amazing Extreme terrain is open on this fine Monday, but keep your ears and eyes open as ski patrol is working daily on opening more of that gnarly extreme terrain we all love...think Phoenix and Spellbound bowl!
