Announcements
The day is here and the time is near. On this 25th day of November, at precisely 9:00 am, Red Lady Express will start turning, leading you to five trails, including Peanut, Lower Keystone, Warming House Hill, Bubba's Skihill and Houston. Not only are these runs lying on a snow-filled 17 inch base but they are surrounded by judges with special, creative eyes, waiting to find the best costumes of the day. Let the freak flag fly this year as costumes are encouraged, and those displaying the most creativity and ski season style will be rewarded with fabulous prizes including skis, packs, clothing and other phenomenal prizes from local businesses. It's time to start the ski season and let's do it right!

Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 30's today, making it a perfect day to make turns in the bright sunshine, followed by taking a break at the always delicious Butte 66 Restaurant, located at the base of the mountain. Not only do they have breath taking views from their deck, but the new revamped Route 66 menu is enough to make any human's mouth water. In addition, music from the local radio station, KBUT will be broadcasted throughout the day with a special live appearance by band Stretch Johnson, who will make the apres scene even groovier.

The skies will remain clear through Friday, with temperatures staying in the lower 40's. The weathermen are forecasting snow for the weekend; regardless of Mother Nature, the diligent snow makers continue to work hard day and night getting as much terrain open as quickly as possible; and by Friday we should see Teocali Lift open, giving you access to even more terrain. Keep your ears and eyes perked for more lift and terrain openings every day!

Today's a day to celebrate the start of another unforgettable season here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Put your sunscreen on, get your costumes ready and make this the start of a great ski season!
