Good Morning skiers and riders! The weekend is almost here, and it is shaping up to be a great one! We had four feet of snow dumping on our Mountain last week, making the skiing and riding conditions, excellent! Our natural base depth is now 43 inches and we've had a season total snowfall of 90 inches. Seven lifts will carry you around the Mountain today, giving you access to 56 trails. Forty two of those trails have been groomed and the groomer's choice for today is International. It looks like today we will be skiing and riding under those beautiful, Colorado, Blue Bird skies and temperatures are expected to reach the high twenties. Keep your eyes and ears open for more terrain and lift openings this weekend, including the Twister Lift and the Teocalli Lift. The Tubing Hill will also open on Sunday, so grab the kids and sleds, and get ready to have a great time on the Hill! Keep in mind that the Twister Lift will be open this Saturday and Sunday only, then will reopen for the Holidays, starting the 26th! Speaking of kids, did you know that kids are free in CB? That's right, this Winter, kids are getting hooked up in Crested Butte! Just bring the kids along with any adult reservation and we'll hook your kids up with FREE skiing, airfare, and lodging! Plus, once they get here there are plenty of great activities waiting for them, like the new base area Adventure Park complete with year-round ice-skating, bungee trampolines, a climbing wall, and lift-served tubing! Yes I said lift-served! How good is that! There's also plenty to learn at Camp CB during their Winter Kids Program, which has authentic experience-based adventure opportunities, designed just for kids. Not only will they learn how to ski or snowboard, but they'll have a blast doing it! The always enchanting and amazing Rock On Ice is also back and better than ever! Come be amazed as two of the world's most renowned carvers create beautiful ice sculptures right before your eyes! This event runs through December 21st and will feature daily ice carving demonstrations, including interactive sculptures perfect for family photos. Also, be sure to check out the dazzling ice sculpture garden in the outdoor courtyard at Mountaineer Square! The IZ Style Winter tour is also back in Crested Butte this weekend! Eve 6 and the Pete Kilpatrick band will be playing at Butte 66, with Eve 6 on Saturday night and the Pete Kilpatrick Band finishing off on Sunday afternoon. The Reverb Eco Village will set up at the base area and will highlight local, regional, and national environmental non-profit groups alongside alternative energy and transportation exhibits. They'll also throw in some natural/organic food sampling along with the chance to demo some outdoor adventure sports equipment. You'll definitely want to check this event out!
