Superpipe Opens Today- groms and rippers welcome! If you're riding up the Silver Queen and wondering what's going on Buckley, stop and watch our first USSA sanctioned race of the season. The age class GS will be the season opener for athletes from across the Rocky Mountain Division. Athletes ages 8-14 will be charging down Buckley looking to pocket some early season wins. If anything, these competitive athletes will remind you about your own need for speed before you head down that favorite trail, International.

Good morning and welcome to the 2nd day of the first month of 2010- did you catch that? It's January 2, 2010 and this is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Great news everyone- we received two inches of new snow over night and it is still snowing. With a 60% chance of snow showers throughout today, and moderate chances of snow through Wednesday, we could see quite a bit of accumulation during the first part of this week. Just in the past seven days, we've gotten half a foot of snow, and our total snowfall for the 2009-2010 season is now 100". The other good news for all you eager groms out there, is that the Super Pipe will be opening today. Grab your skis and boards, a quick breakfast to go from Camp 4 or Butte 66 and get in line at the Silver Queen- there is shredding to be had. 85 % of our terrain is now open, including 100% of our beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain. Ride 14 lifts to a total of 554 acres and 84 trails of accessible terrain. If groomers are more your style, choose from 76 trails, including the Groomer's Choice today, which is Houston. It is currently 16 degrees and lightly snowing. Need I say more- head on up to the mountain and see for yourself- enjoy your weekend on the hill.
