Announcements
Good morning skiers and riders. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Sunday, January 3, 2010. I had a great day of skiing yesterday, with personal powder stashes, entertaining lift rides up the Silver Queenand perfectly timed apres ski. We've had 4 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours- most of which blanketed the slopes while we were out skiing and riding yesterday.

We have not had new snow since the lifts closed yesterday afternoon, but you could get some fresh snow in your face throughout the day today, as there is a 30% chance of snow. In the last 72 hours, we've had 6 inches of new snow and we've gotten 10 inches of new snow in just the last seven days. Our new snow total for the year has surpassed the 100 inch mark and we are now looking at 104 inches of that lovely, fluffy stuff that has already fallen this ski season.

We now have 554 acres of terrain that is accessible via 14 chair lifts, including 4 high-speed quads that transport you from bottom to top in lickety split and offer the best views of our fantastic snow country. Choose your favorite trail out of a total of 84 trails, including 80 groomed trails and the Groomer's Choice today, Upper Keystone. Conditions on the mountain are powder/packed powder, and temps are expected to reach the mid 20's today.

Need I say more? Throw your skis or snowboard on the FREE Mountain Express bus, pick up your favorite breakfast burrito and cup of joe, and get in line for first chair this morning.

Just the other day, I took the indoor stairs up to Butte 66 to enjoy appetizers and tasty libations- but not without stopping at the new Crested Butte Ski & Snowboard retail stores. They carry everything from Outdoor Research, Flylow, Smith, Under Armour, DC, Bluebird and more. Even though it was the end of the day, the staff was super helpful- and I'll be wearing my cute new hat today. Stop by the Treasury Center and see for yourself.

If you're calling from out of town to hear my lovely voice, or, reading this on skicb.com, you should know about some of the epic lodging packages we are offering this season- like the 4th Night and 4th Day Free. This January and February enjoy uncrowded slopes, terrific snow conditions and a free night of lodging AND a free day of skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. From January 4th through February 11th, purchase 3 nights of lodging and 3 days of lift tickets and receive your fourth night and day on us. If you've been here before, you won't be able to overlook this opportunity, and if you're new to Crested Butte, just trust my word. Package prices starting at under $112 pp/pn and are only available through Crested Butte Vacations at 1.800.810.7669.

Well, I am planning on taking a little morning siesta, engaging in a power breakfast and then spending this Sunday skiing some of my favorite runs- I'll see you on the hill.
