Announcements
Good morning, my people. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Today, skiers and riders will take pleasure in riding 14 lifts up to 554 accessible acres. Choose from a total of 84 trails, including 50 groomed trails and the Groomer's Choice today, Houston. 85% of the mountain is now open, touting a natural snow base of 36 inches. We've received 104 inches of that good, white, fluffy stuff this ski season, and we're expecting more to arrive for the next three days. You heard me right- we have a 30% chance of snow showers today, and 60% chance of snow Wednesday and Thursday. Do your little powder dance at home, and, hopefully, the snow goddesses will answer.

As part of my job, I keep dilligent records of the eateries on the mountain. Yesterday I stopped by Jefe's on the corner of Mountaineer Square, and I was very happy with what I found. The staff was super friendly and the food was really, really good. Choose a burrito or some tacos, with your choice of meat, rice, beans, veggies and great homemade salsas. Grab a drink or cerveza and enjoy the people watching at Mountaineer Square. Yesterday, there were folks picking up lift tickets and entertainment suggestions from our Mountain Concierge at the Adventure Center; they were purchasing new gear from Thin Air Sports and the Colorado Boarder; and they were warming up by our outdoor fireplace while looking at the ice sculptures around the courtyard of Mountaineer Square. Needless to say, I enjoyed my lunch at Jefe's yesterday, and you will too. Jefe's is open from 11 am - 5 pm and tell them the Snow Betty sent you!

Enjoy the day today- I'll see you on the hill.
