Announcements
Good morning snow bunnies and powder hounds! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. With over 100 inches of snow so far in the 2009-2010 season, we are riding on a packed powder base of 35 inches. If you're here in Crested Butte, you'll be skiing or riding across 554 acres of open terrain, accessible via 12 lifts. We offer 350 acres of groomed terrain, including our Groomer's Choice today, Cascade. The Teocalli and Twister Lifts will be closed through Friday, and then open again Saturday and run through the beginning of next week.

We've got snow moving in folks, so if you haven't practiced your snow dance, I suggest you get out there. There is a 30% chance of snowshowers for Wednesday and a whopping 70% chance of snow on Thursday. Temperatures for the next four days will range from the cool single digits in the morning and rising to perfect precipitation temps in the low 30's. I'll be wearing my lucky snow socks and snowman brooch for the next couple of days, will you?

So, I am guilty of something. I have been skiing around Colorado lately. Here's what I found- there is no other ski resort like Crested Butte Mountain Resort. From our spectacular terrain, to the views of the Elk Mountain Range...from our friendly little town and free mountain shuttle, full of town characters to our cozy retail stores and multi-cultural restaurants- Crested Butte tops them all. We feature 4 high speed quads that quickly transport you back up for more incredible runs. This is not so at other resorts. You won't get lost in Crested Butte, but every lift and every run provide you with a different view of our breathtaking surroundings- there are photo ops around every corner. I feel spoiled to call Crested Butte my home- so, if you're not here already, come see what I'm talking about. I promise you won't have to look hard.

Let's talk food. Where are you going to eat tonight?

On the mountain, you can enjoy dinner at the Firehouse Grill, Djangos, The Avalanche, The Woodstone Bar & Grill inside the Grand Lodge and 9380 Prime. Each restaurant offers a unique menu and atmosphere, so when you're leaving the base area this afternoon, poke your nose into a new restaurant to see what you like. If you want to spend some time in town tonight, hop on the FREE Mountain Express Bus in the courtyard of Moutaineer Square. Downtown Crested Butte is a great place for getting some local color and cuisine. From pizza to sushi, and burgers to pitas, the restaurants in the town of Crested Butte will appease any appetite. Pick up a dining guide or take recommendations from the locals in town. You are sure to find a multitude of menu items that will fit your New Year's Resolution and your appetite.

I'm off to do my snow jig- I'll see you on the hill.
