Good morning Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Today is Tuesday, January 19th, 2010, and it's going to be another wonderful day on the slopes as 1 inch of snow has fallen overnight, making the season snowfall so far this year 107 inches. The best part is it's still snowing and the snow is expected to continue falling throughout the rest of the week! With temperatures reaching the lower 30's today and snow streaming down, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is the place to be right now! On this snowy Tuesday in January, you can take your pick on any of the 12 lifts open, keeping in mind Teocali Lift and Twister Lift will be closed until Friday, but will reopen for the weekend. 554 skiable acres are open, which are spread across a powder packed 34 inch base. The diligent groomers have worked hard creating Colorado's best corduroy on 57 of the 84 trails open, and they recommend Lower Keystone as their groomer's choice today. On top of the phenomenal variety of trails open, 3 terrain parks, including the terrain park located on Warming House Hill, Painter Boy Terrain Park, and Canaan Terrain Park, as well as the DC Superpipe, are all open and ready to be shredded on. Well folks, there's something out there for everyone! If you think the skiing and riding is great out here, why not experience EVERYTHING Crested Butte has to offer, both on and off the hill. Try the new Adventure Park, located at the base of the mountain, where they offer everything from a rock climbing wall, to bungee trampolines, to a recently added lift served tubing hill. Operating hours for the Adventure Park are from 2pm-5pm, leaving you more than enough time to enjoy the ski hill beforehand. If you're up for a more relaxing apres ski, why not make an appointment at any of the luxurious spas located throughout the mountain. From the Elevation Spa, to the Wildflower Spa, located in the Grand Lodge, there's a soothing and blissful experience awaiting you.
