Special Announcements
There are two major events this weekend in Crested Butte. In downtown Crested Butte, nordic skiers will be competing in the 24th Annual Alley Loop which features a unique course that winds its way through the streets and alleys of downtown CB! The course meanders through snow-lined alleys, behind false-fronted stores and restaurants, over footbridges and alongside residences before heading out to the pristine outskirts of Crested Butte. Costumed nordic skiers are quite enjoyable to watch and start time is around 9:30 am.

After you watch the start and finish of the costumed race, hop on the free Mountain Express bus up to the mountain for the the USSA Slopestyle and Superpipe events. Head over to the Paradise Lift and take a few runs by the Superpipe and the Canaan Terrain Park to get your sneak peak at the hottest athletes on tour. Snowboarders and skiers are taking these kind of events to the next level, and the competition is tough- you just never know what you're going to see.

Good morning locals, visitors and all you wannabees. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Saturday, February 6, 2010. It looks like we are starting off on the right foot this morning with 1" of new snow on the ground and plenty more to come. The weather pattern for the next few days includes very high chances of snow, and we should have some substantial accumulation by tomorrow. Conditions on the hill are powder and packed powder and our natural snow depth ranges between 39 and 47 inches.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort has plenty of terrain for everyone, so don't worry about avoiding the crowds on our mountain. We feature 1144 acres of accessible terrain and we are now 97% open. If you dig the groomers, we have 370 acres and 66 trails for you, including the Groomer's Choice for today, Jokerville. All told, folks are skiing and riding 110 trails today, accessed by 14 chair lifts and the most spectacular views of the high country. Stop what you're doing and see what I'm talking about in Crested Butte.

I hope you can join me this weekend in revelry on the mountain and in town. Have a good one folks.
