It's going to be another huge Powder Day in Crested Butte! Fifteen inches of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours and that means we'll be having tons of fun on the Hill today! It's been at least 24 hours since we've seen the sun and the forecast shows no signs of snowfall letting up anytime soon! It is dumping! We've had a season total snowfall of 178 inches and more is on the way! Today you'll have your choice of 16 lifts to ride, giving you access to 111 trails all spread out across a powdery, 65 inch base. Temperatures should remain in the twenties and the conditions on the Mountain will be excellent, Crested Butte Powder! Don't miss out on the chance to get up on the Hill today, because this is what skiing and riding in Crested Butte is all about! The weather experts are predicting more snow to fall through Tuesday, so I have a feeling we will be in for plenty more Powder days! If you enjoy the groomers, we've got those as well. Seventy trails have been meticulously groomed for you skiing and riding pleasure, and the groomer's choice for today is Lower Keystone! Before you head up on the Hill this morning, check out the new PowCam on this website! Now you can watch the snow stack up in real time! The PowCam is cleared every day after the lifts close at 4:00 pm. As the snow stacks up, you can click on the PowCam and see exactly how much fresh is waiting for you when the lifts start spinning in the morning! I had a peek this morning and it is already reading 11 inches as the day breaks! Be sure and check out the US Extreme Freeskiing Championships today to see some of the best skiers in the business rip it up on super technical steeps! Watch as Extreme athletes vie for the largest cash purse on the Freeskiing Circuit and sweet prizes from all the sponsors! If you can ski or ride a blue run and aren't afraid to hike a little, you can be a spectator at this incredible event! With all this fresh snow on the Hill this is sure to be a very memorable time! Also happening on the Mountain today, is The Prater Cup! This annual race brings 200 of Colorado’s top 11 and 12 year racers onto the Hill! The Prater Cup is in its 39th year and is sure to be blast for competitors and fans alike. Look for some high speed skiing and tons of fun as these athlete’s look to qualify for the Junior Olympics as well as beat out their competitors in the annual Nations Cup team event!
