Good morning everyone. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Conditions have been epic here in Crested Butte, with 27 inches of snow falling in just the last seven days. Four inches of snow has fallen in the last 48 hours, and 10 inches in the last 3 days. Our total snowfall for this season is 188 inches- that's over 15 feet of snow for all you numbers people out there.

Currently, conditions on the mountain are powder and packed powder and there are 1144 acres of open terrain for you to explore. 15 lifts will be taking you up to 111 trails on the mountain today, and our expert grooming team has 66 groomed trails for you to ski, including the Groomer's Choice, Keystone. The Superpipe on Warming House Hill is open and freshly cut, and you know you're going to see some Crested Butte groms out there today ripping it up during their break from school.

After a long weekend of the Prater Cup, the Freeskiing Championships and very long, powder days, we are finally settling into the work week with a short break from snow. Today, you can expect Colorado bluebird skies here in the Butte, with temps reaching the low 20's. Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow and Thursday, so don't put those powder skis and boards away for good. February and March have been known to offer the best snow of the season, so if you aren't already here, it's time to make those reservations.
