Good Morning skiers and riders! Hope you are having a wonderful Friday! I'm happy to report that the weather experts are predicting a 70% chance of precipitation today, so keep those fingers crossed! I've got no new snow to report at five am, but it is lightly snowing outside as the day breaks. You can keep track of today's snowfall, by checking out the Powcam on this website. Here you can watch the snow stack up in real time and you can see exactly how much fresh is waiting for you as you hit the slopes today! Be sure and check it out! Today, you can hop on any one of 16 lifts that will transport you around the Mountain. With 1144 acres of terrain open, you'll have plenty of runs to keep you entertained on the Hill, including 111 fun filled trails. Don't forget to take a run down International, because it is our groomer's choice for today! We've had a season total snowfall of 192 inches leaving us will a fun filled, 52 inch base. You can expect the conditions on the Mountain to be packed powder, with hopefully a bit of fresh powder as the day continues! Well folks, the new 2010 - 2011 Season Passes are now on sale and we are starting the new season off with a Spring Pass Sale that is definitely something to consider! Lock in the lowest price when you purchase your Platinum or Gold 2010/2011 Season Pass online between March 15th – April 4th, 2010. Also new for 2010 - 2011, adult Gold Passholders get 2 half-price Buddy Tickets and adult Platinum Passholders get 4 half-price Buddy Tickets for use during the 2010 - 2011 ski season. We are also offering a Family Value Program that is second to none! Receive one free child or young adult pass with every adult full season pass purchased. The Family Package includes one Adult Platinum or Gold pass and one pass of the same type for that adult’s legal dependent child, age 17 and under. Platinum Passes provide unlimited skiing and riding with no blackout dates, and are valid for both the 2010 - 2011 winter season and the 2011 summer season. Be sure and take advantage of these early savings while they last! It's a great time of year to be in Crested Butte! The 14th Annual Extreme Telemark Freeskiing Championships are going on today! Over 100 free-heelers take to the slopes to compete in this Telemark Freeskiing event! The two-day big mountain event attracts the biggest names in the Telemark industry and is unique to Crested Butte. Free Telemark demos and specialty clinics also take place during this Telemark celebration! This is always a must see event. Spectators are welcome at every competitive event. Venues are accessible to blue-level (intermediate) skiers and snowboarders. A short hike may be required. Be sure and check it out. Also, the weekend culminates with the legendary Al Johnson Race, which is one of the most colorful Crested Butte traditions. Watch as teleskiers dressed in full costumes race up the Headwall and then link turns all the way to the finish line at the bottom of the pitch. Come cheer on your favorite skiers, and decide which is your favorite costume!
