Announcements
Good morning everybody! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Thursday, March 25, 2010. With only 11 days left in the 2009-2010 winter season, the slopes in Crested Butte continue to provide great skiing and riding. You can ride 14 lifts up to over 1100 acres of accessible terrain, including 350 groomed acres. Throughout the mountain you'll find packed powder conditions and the groomers think you'll really enjoy International today, so be sure to take a couple of front side runs. We could see a few snow flurries on the mountain today, and temps should reach the low 30's. Skies will be partly cloudy tomorrow and there is a small chance of snow through the first couple days of the weekend. Spring time skiing and riding is good fun, no matter what the weather. So boot up, strap in and hit the hill.

Around the base area, most retail stores are offering great end of the season discounts, but today shopping gets even better in town and on the mountain. Today, locals and tourists alike are being asked to spend $25 locally. The 25on25 event sponsored by the Crested Butte News and the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce Think Local First campaign, encourages you to spend your $25 locally instead of online or out of town. Money spent in town stays in town. Look for promotional ads in the Crested Butte News today and get the heads up on special sales and promotions of your favorite local stores, including Thin Air Sports, Crested Butte Ski & Snowboard, and Elevation Station at the base area.

I also thought I should remind you to make plans for this Saturday, March 27th and dust off your dancing shoes. The entire Gunnison Valley is celebrating Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s major spring bluegrass event - the first annual Ski Town Breakdown. Warming House Hill will come alive on Saturday when the Nederland's own, Yonder Mountain String Band hits the stage. Tickets are only $35 and the boot-stompin show will begin around 3 pm with opening band, The Pete Kilpatrick Band. Purchase your tickets online and pick them up at the Adventure Center today and tomorrow or at will-call on Saturday. Stop by the Adventure Center at the base area for more information and get ready to rock.

If you'd like to visit Crested Butte for the show this weekend, then you must hear about this deal. Right now we are offering a VIP travel package for this weekend. Receive two vip concert tickets (same as above), two one day lift tickets and one night of lodging at the luxurious slopeside Elevation Hotel (just steps from the show venue) for just $239 per person. That's skiing or riding, dancing your pants off and crashing at the most elegant hotel in Crested Butte. Call Crested Butte Vacations to make your reservatsions today at 1-800-810-7669.

This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty signing off for the day- I'll see you on the hill.
