Good morning Crested Butte and welcome to another fantastic day on March 23, 2014. A little sunshine, some more warm weather, and 4 inches of new snow make for a great day on Crested Butte Mountain Resort. With wall to wall open terrain there is 100% of open beginner, intermediate, advanced and extreme terrain for a total of 1547 acres, 14 lifts zipping you to 121 open trails of some awesome snow conditions! With the new snow today we have added to our grand total of over 21 feet of snow this season for a 74" base. Add the hard work of the grooming team and we can enjoy sweet runs like the groomers choice Smith Hill.
Please join us and all your friends for the Al Johnson Telemark Race. This Colorado costume event is as much fun to watch as it is to participate in. As a tribute to a rugged 19th century mailman, competitors in wacky costumes climb 660 vertical feet, then descend 1200 feet down double-black diamond steeps, some having never telemarked at all! Prizes for best times, best costumes, and best fall. The race can be tag-team or individual, or enjoyed as a spectator with access to the venue by an intermediate run.
Did you you know Butte 66 serves dinner? Enjoy a great dinner and atmosphere at one of your favorite après ski spots. An awesome day of skiing, the Al Johnson, then a great après and dinner spot at Butte 66!
Have a super sweet day and see you on the slopes!
