Announcements
If you are gearing up for the weekend, I have some "need to know" information for you. First things first though, the snow and mountain stats for today.

We have received 1 one inch of fresh snow in the last 48 hours, with expectations of more on the way. Forecasters believe that we are part of the larger snow system happening in the West, so we should see snow showers today and throughout the weekend. That means warmer weather for your days off, with average day-time temps in the low 40s.

Currently, we are skiing and riding on a 30 inch base at the top and 23 at midway. There are three lifts up and running today, providing access to a total of 29 trails spread over 217 acres, including 120 groomed acres. Our grooming team has been out on the mountain all night long, and have chosen Upper Ruby Chief as the Groomer's Choice today.

Big News of the Day!
Due to our stellar pre-season snowfall and the hard work of our snowmaking, grooming and lift operations teams, wewill be opening both the Silver Queen and East River lifts this weekend. These two high-speed quad lifts will shuttle skiers and riders to an additional 22 runs, including some of your favorites like Upper Keystone, Jokerville and Twister, as well as Black Eagle, Resurrection and Floresta.

In addition to the season's opening of the Silver Queen and East River Lifts, the Teocalli and Peachtree Lifts will also be open for the weekend. It all begins again Saturday at 9 am, so if you aren't planning to load the free bus from town to the mountain, it's time to get the move on! This is an early season opener for all of these lifts, and a great sign for the rest of the season.

Remember to visit skicb.com for all things Crested Butte, and to call Crested Butte Vacations at 1-800-810-7669 to learn about early season lift, lodging and airfare packages.

This is the Snow Betty signing off from the town that's full of Butteness. I'll see you on the hill.
