Good morning Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Today is Monday, December 13th, 2010 and what a beautiful day is in store for you today. With Colorado's infamous sun shining brightly and temperatures reaching 40 degrees, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is the place to be! The sun is expected to continue shining through tomorrow, then on Wednesday the clouds will come back and snow returns to the forecast! Take your pick on any of the four lifts that are spinning today, including Silver Queen, Red Lady Express, Paradise Lift and the Aspen Magic Carpet, leading you to 49 diverse and exciting trails laid out on a 37 inch base. With the help of Mother Nature's 107 inches of snow that has already fallen this season (14 of which have fallen in the past week) and the snow making crew, 330 skiable acres are open. One hundred seventy of those acres have been perfectly groomed by the hard working groomers and they recommend International as their groomer's choice today. The whole mountain crew has worked hard day and night opening 51% of terrain and even more is expected to open this weekend! The holiday season is here and that means joy, families, and of course gifts for all! With the help of the mountain shops located throughout the base of Mt. Crested Butte, shopping just got that much easier. From top of the line clothing and accessories to unique CBMR Logo'd attire, the stores located throughout the mountain offer gifts for everyone on your list! The 12 Days of Christmas sale begins tomorrow where, at Thin Air Sports (located in Mountaineer Square), a new item will be on sale every day. Stop in to Thin Air and see what the next item on sale is! Besides skiing and riding the slopes of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, what's the best thing about the holiday season? Why it's Gingerbread House making of course! And while you're making your masterpiece at home, why not enter it in the 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Competition to be held in Mt. Crested Butte? There are a variety of categories that you can enter, including Adult, Teen, Kids Only, and a Restaurant Division. Registration forms are due by December 15th and houses are due by December 19th to the lower level of Elevation Hotel. Bring out the unique creativity in you this holiday season!
