Good morning powder hounds and ski bunnies! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Saturday, January 29, 2010. The mountain will be bumping this weekend; the wind is calm, the skies are clear and temps will get up into the mid to upper 30's. On these true Colorado bluebird days, you'll find your stoke amongst 1167 acres of accessible terrain. With 100% of our Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Terrain open, and 99% of our Extremes available, you're sure to find what you're looking for out of this weekend. Our groomers pride themselves on producing "Colorado's Best Corduroy," so be sure to take a run down the Groomer's Choice today, Upper Ruby Chief. Just a heads up, the Twister and Teocalli Lifts will be closed this weekend, but all other 14 lifts will be up and running. In other words, there are more than enough reasons to get up on the hill today, so grab a cup of Joe and a breakfast burrito and hop on the free bus. The mountain is calling!

Your New Year's Resolutions are well underway by now; but if you didn't resolve to visit Crested Butte this winter, it's not too late. While many of us are busy shedding pounds, cursing less or checking the stocks every morning, your resolution is easy to fulfill. Just call Crested Butte Vacations and see which of our exclusive packages fits your budget. For only $599, you can fly roundtrip to the Gunnison/Crested Butte airport, stay for 4 nights at the Grand Lodge and ski or snowboard 3 days. The Grand Lodge is adjacent to Mountaineer Square and is the most popular hotel at the ski area, complete with its own restaurant and bar, coffee shop, heated outdoor pool, hot tub and fire pit and oversized fireplace in the lobby. In 3 days, you can see the most spectacular views of the Elk Mountain Range and Gunnison Valley, stroll through idyllic downtown Crested Butte and get enough skiing and riding to entice you to visit year after year. We call that "Butteness," and if it sounds good to you, call Crested Butte Vacations at 1-800-810-7669 to let our reservations team get you here in 2011.

If you're vacationing in Crested Butte and need to go home with gifts in hand, you'll find shopping easy on the mountain. Shops around the base area include Logo'd, White Room Apparel, Peak Sports, Butte & Co., Flatiron Sports, Christy Sports, Colorado Freeskier and the Colorado Boarder. Whether you're looking for stylish winter clothes or gifts that can only be found in the Butte, the base area and Mountaineer Square will fit the bill. Can't find exactly what you are looking for? Ask any of our Guest Service Representatives for their recommendations. Guest Services is conveniently located in the Ticket Office in Mountaineer Square and in the tiny cabin near the Red Lady Lift. Whatever you do, don't go home empty-handed!

It's Saturday, and we're all heading to the hill. I'll see you there.
