Announcements
Good morning skiers and riders. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. So far this season, Crested Butte has received 244 inches of snow, giving us a great foundation for the Subaru US Freeskiing Championships happening this week. We are skiing and riding on 69 inches of packed powder, and our beginner, intermediate, advanced and extreme terrain is 100% open. Today, 15 out of 16 lifts will be shuttling stoked skiers and riders to their pick of 105 trails among 1167 acres of accessible terrain. The groomed terrain is super fun out there, and from 420 acres of Colorado's Best Corduroy, the mountain team has chosen International as the Groomer's Choice today.

We are expecting snow to move into Crested Butte in the next couple of days. NOAA is forecasting a 70% chance of snow tonight and all day and night tomorrow, bringing us 5-12 inches of snow. Now is the time to get out and do your mid-February snow dance! The snow event could be accompanied by some high winds, so be sure to wear your face mask and watch for any lift or terrain changes throughout today and tomorrow.

If you are looking to get to Crested Butte this winter season, you'll be glad to hear this tidbit of news. I just received word that American Airlines has deeply discounted airfares if you book before February 25. You have less than 10 days to get in on the best airfare deal of the season. So call Crested Butte Vacations and get "in the know." The number for Crested Butte Vacations is 1.800.810.7669. Ask the helpful reservations team about other deals you can find this winter season...and you just might find what you're looking for!

That's all from me today, folks. Have a great day and I'll see you at the Extremes!
