If you like history and want to learn more about Crested Butte, join the Skivenger Hunt on the mountain today. The Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum and Crested Butte Mountain Resort are teaming up this Sunday for the 2nd Annual Beach-ball Express and Skivenger Hunt. Teams of 4 can register for $80 at the Conundrum Ballroom in downstairs Elevation from 10-11. Follow clues around the mountain to answer questions about Crested Butte history. The winning team gets a pizza and beer party at the Firehouse Grill and costume prizes will be awarded to best dressed team, individual and kid! Look for Glo on the mountain with her silly beach ball hat, stop by the Museum, or stop a board member to buy raffle tickets. Tickets are $5 a piece or 6 for $25 and, when the balls roll on Sunday at 3 pm, you could win a $1000 cash prize, a trip for two to Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs and a 2011-2012 Nordic Pass. Support the Museum at 331 Elk in Tony's Conoco. The Museum is an important part of the Crested Butte community; show your support today on the mountain.

Okay, first things first. Did you change your clock last night? Welcome to Daylight Savings! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Sunday, March 13, 2011. It's spring days like these that make you appreciate variable skiing and riding conditions. We're glad to report that two inches of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours, adding a little bit of cushion for your pushin. With 1167 acres to explore and 16 lifts to get you there, you'll find lots of soft snow for carving turns. Today we are offering up a total of 105 trails, including 470 groomed acres of "Colorado's Best Corduroy" and featuring today's Groomer's Choice, Upper Keystone. Don't be surprised if you see a little snow today and tomorrow, as forecasters are calling for slight chances both days. Temperatures mid-day will be hovering around 40 degrees, making the day extremely comfortable for a full day of skiing and riding.

Everyone is most likely looking for a way to wind down a very busy weekend, and I'd like to make a recommendation. This evening at 8pm at The Center for the Arts, Multi-Platinum selling Pianist-Composer-Producer, Peter Kater, will be treating locals to a performance they wont' forget. Kater has received 6 Grammy Award Nominations in the last 7 years with his recent nomination being for his In A Dream collaboration (2009) with long time STING guitarist, Dominic Miller. He's been nominated for and won many awards for his music and is a proud recipient of the United Nations' Environment Leadership Award. Come enjoy the diverse and technical style of Peter Kater this evening at 8pm at the Center; whether you're a long-time fan or want to enjoy something different, you'll definitely appreciate this performance.

That's all from me today, folks. Have a great day and I'll see you on the hill.
