Announcements
Good morning, my people. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Monday, March 14, 2011. If you just got into town yesterday, welcome to the Butte! Today, you can ride 16 lifts up to your choice of 105 trails spread out over 1167 acres. Whether you're looking for beginner, intermediate, advanced or extreme terrain, you'll find 100% of it open today. With well over 300 inches of snow this season, we have racked up a natural snow base of 79 inches at the top and 63 inches a mid-way. All this snow means there is plenty of skiing and riding for everyone!

The skiing and riding in packed powder conditions is good fun right now, so don't dilly dally too long this morning. Yesterday I got a few early-morning first tracks on "Colorado's Best Corduroy," and nothing could have been more satisfying. There are 470 groomed acres and I am happy to announce that our expert grooming team has chosen Crystal as the Groomer's Choice today. Hit Crystal off the Silver Queen or Twister Lift and see why our groomers are infamous in the West. Skies will be partly sunny today, and temps will be comfortably in the low to mid 40s, but temps are a little cooler in the morning, so layer up. You can tell it's going to be good skiing and riding all week long- that's just how we roll in March!

There are still deals to be had in Crested Butte, including super cheap flights on Continental. Right now, you can fly round trip from several popular hubs around the country into the conveniently-located Gunnison-Crested Butte Airport for as little as $270. This is one of those great windows of opportunity for those of you who are still looking to get away for a winter vacation this season. This offer is valid only until March 25, and some restrictions do apply. These Continental flights are worth checking out, so give a call to Crested Butte Vacations to find out more. That number is 1.800.810.7669.

On March 26, you should plan on being in Crested Butte for a hot new, GREEN concert. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is teaming up with Nordica, Reverb and the Bud Light Concert Series to bring you the O.A.R. FestEVOL. You'll hear live music from O.A.R. and the Pete Kilpatrick Band while getting a hands-on, green living experience with innovative natural brands and a sustainably focused “eco village." This sounds like a great time, and concert tickets are only $25 for all you Crested Butte and Gunnison locals and Western State College Students. If you don't live in the area, you can still get great deals including lodging and a concert ticket for $99, or lodging, lift and concert ticket for only $149. For more information, call Crested Butte Vacations at 1.800.810.7669.

That's all from me today, folks. Have a great day out there and I'll see you on the hill.
