Good morning skiers and riders. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Today we are looking at cloudy and SNOWY skies, with a 50% chance of snow and a little bit of wind to blow it all in. We'll have a high temperature of 21 degrees today, and winds will vary between 10- 20 mph. With 5 inches of new snow in the last 7 days, our natural snow depth at the top is 25" and 18" at midway. The Peachtree Lift will be opening back up again today, so you have 9 lifts to shuttle you up a total of 54 trails on 400 acres, including 30 groomed trails on 218 acres. 89% of our beginner and intermediate terrain is accessible, and the Groomer's Choice for today is Upper Ruby Chief. The latest and greatest on-mountain coffee joint is Ten Peaks at the top of the Painter Boy Lift. Ten Peaks is a great place for a mid-morning break, lunch or an afternoon snack and pick me up.
