Happy Groundhog Day, skiers and riders! Well folks, it looks like our furry friend, Punxsutawney Phil, did in fact, see his shadow, and know what that means, there's going to be 6 more weeks of epic powder days to be had! One this is for sure on this 2nd day of February in 2012, Headwall and Teocalli Bowl are now open!! That's right, on top of the 100% of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain that is open, 27% of the infamous extremes are now shredable, creating luscious powder stashes for all!

In addition to the phenomenal terrain that is open, the weather is looking just as sweet. You can expect to see mostly snowy skies today with temperatures reaching the upper 20's. The snow is expected to continue falling throughout the entire day and continue through Friday! With great snow and weather, now's a great time to experience any of the 11 lifts that are spinning, leading you to 86 trails spread across 770 skiable acres. The heedful groomers have worked day and night, creating Colorado's best corduroy on 63 of those trails and recommend Upper Keystone as their groomer's choice for the day! Regardless of what you decide to rip down today, the 42 inch base will be nothing short of powderific!

There are so many ways to explore the mountain, but have you ever thought of going on a little snowshoe tour to see parts of the mountain no one else gets to see? On snowshoes, you will explore the mountain and learn about the history of the area and qualities of the local ecosystem. Tours last approximately 2 and a half hours leaving at either 9:30 am or 1:00 pm, and include a friendly, local guide, snowshoes, poles, a lift ticket, water and a light snack.

Now's a great time to bring the whole family to the greatest ski resort in world, especially because of the "Kids Stay and Ski Free" package going on right now. That's right, starting March 17th and lasting through April 8th, when you book your lodging through Crested Butte Vacations, your kids, ages 12 and under, will stay and ski for FREE! There's nothing more to it! You ALL get to have a fun-filled, adventure packed vacation for pretty much half price! Call Crested Butte Vacations at 1.800.810.7669 to get the ball rolling on one vacation that will make memories to create a lifetime.

As Phil from Groundhog's Day said, "I'd love to stand here and talk to you, but I'm not going to"...because I have to go ski of course!
