Good morning everyone! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Saturday, March 3, 2012. In the last three days, we've gotten a full 2 feet of new snow, and I know your powder day legs are feeling it! Today's powder and packed powder conditions will not disappoint. We are 98% open, translating to 1085 acres of accessible terrain. 14 of our lifts, including 4 high speed quads, are shuttling skiers and snowboarders up to a total of 97 trails, including a long list of groomed trails. Our featured groomer today is Floresta, which can be accessed via the East River Express Lift. Whether you're searching out buttery smooth groomers, or looking for super sweet powder stashes, you'll be happy with what Crested Butte has to offer. Come reap the benefits of two feet of snow in just the last three days! Today are the final, sold out performances of Move the Butte, the Crested Butte Dance Collective's annual dance performance. There's all kinds of dancing going on today, including Hip Hop, Burlesque, Trapeze, Aerial Lyra and Aerial Silk, Celtic dance, Tap, Ballet and more. The 4pm and 8pm shows are sold out but folks at the Center have graciously offered some standing room only tickets if you are interested in waiting at the door before each show. Get there early because the line of hopeful audience members might be long! Right about now you should also be thinking about finalizing your plans for Crested Butte's FestEVOL. Come to Crested Butte Mountain Resort March 17 & 18 for mountain sports, live music, and the progressive "eco-village."
