Experience the thrill of operating a snowcat, a 5 ton machine, and learn to move snow like a pro under the instruction of one of Crested Butte’s finest groomers. Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s snowshoe tour is a unique way to experience the majestic surroundings of the valley. Tours explore areas of the mountain where few skiers go. Participants learn about the history of the area and qualities of the local ecosystem. Tours last about two and a half hours and include a guide, snowshoes, poles, a lift ride, water, and a light snack. Tours leave at 12:30 p.m. daily. For more information and reservations stop by the Mountain Concierge desk in the Adventure Center or call 970.349.4554. Looking for a quick place to grab lunch? Stop by Jefe’s to make your own burrito or taco. Take it for the lift or sit on the sunny deck. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thrilled to report that Third Bowl opens this morning at 9:00! Be ready to jump on the Silver Queen, carve over to the NFL, to get first tracks down one of the local’s favorite runs, Third Bowl! On this Tuesday, you can look forward to sunny skies and incredible conditions on our mountain that is boasting a 54 inch base. Opening Third Bowl has brought our open terrain total up to 96%. We have 58 trails groomed to your liking and Lower Treasury seems like it just might be better than all the others today.
