Crested Butte Search and rescue is involved in all aspects of outdoor search and rescue, from searching for lost or injured hikers, to vertical evacuation and rescue. The organization is also a mountain rescue certified team.
This certification is a worldwide certification enabling us to respond anywhere there are other certified teams requesting resources.
This non-profit organization has existed since 1986, and is comprised of 28 volunteers, from support people to EMT paramedics. Local residents interested in joining should contact the Search and Rescue office at (970) 349-7241.
