Mt. Crested Butte peeked through early morning clearing from the night’s snowstorm. Then the clouds closed in again, and it’s snowing some more. The new snow brings our Thanksgiving weekend snowfall total close to two feet.

The snowy peaks of Paradise Divide can be seen over Crested Butte rooftops today, after an entire day of snowfall. Seeing the peaks around town covered in white makes local yearn for opening day at the ski area.

More snow fell on Crested Butte last night. Three inches in town adds to our snowfall total from earlier in the week. The ski area and the backcountry have received even more snow. Winter is definitely on the way.

Crested Butte received snow yesterday evening that continued into the night. More than 3 inches of snow covered the town of Crested Butte, and parts of the backcountry received as much as 6 inches of snow.

The sun is shining this morning; most of our new snow will probably be gone by the end of the day.
