October 10 - 12 Steps Toward Sustainable Living covers many aspects of life and how students can live more sustainably on the Earth. Students experience firsthand how to live off the grid, with all their electricity coming from solar photovoltaic panels and a wind generator, and become conscious of how their actions impact the planet. Building techniques, using natural plaster on straw bale buildings, are taught. Participants also learn how to grow food with ecologically sound methods and gain an understanding of solar-thermal heating systems.
