Wakey, wakey to a super snowy Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! This is Powder Hound digging up a report today that will make you grab the gear and race up the hill for some fresh turns in the additional 5 inches of powder that has fallen in the last 24 hours. That makes 8 inches out of this storm in the past 48 hours and the forecast says we could see more throughout the day! 86 trails are now accessible and, with the opening of Gold Link and Prospect lifts today, 12 lifts are cranking to get you there with ease. With 100% of the beginner, intermediate and advance terrain available as well as 18% of the extreme terrain open, there is fun to be had for all skill levels! Come see why Crested Butte Mountain Resort was voted #1 Ski Town in Powder Magazine’s Ski Town Throw Down and don’t forget to take a few laps down Upper Keystone, our groomer’s choice today!

Nothing rings in the holiday season like a Sleighride Dinner at Uley’s Cabin! Enjoy an unforgettable ride in an open sleigh pulled by a snow cat up to a cabin nestled in the woods where Chef Chris Schlaudecker will tantalize your taste buds with his crafty menu of Colorado cuisine with French influences. After you’ve completed your samples of menu favorites such as Colorado Elk, Braised Lamb Shank or Whiskey River Salmon, bundle up for the sleigh ride back down to the base area. Dinners are available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and advanced reservations are required. Call 1-800-810-7669 to book your dinner today!

I sure am looking forward to more sweet powder turns today! I’ll throw you a wave from the chair!
