Good morning Crested Butte and welcome to another fantastic day on Monday, February 24, 2014. A little sunshine, some more warm weather, and 18 feet of snow for the season make for a great day on Crested Butte Mountain Resort. With wall to wall open terrain there is 100% of open beginner, intermediate, and advanced, plus all 100% of open extreme terrain equals a total of 1167 acres, 14 lifts zipping you to 120 open trails of some awesome snow conditions! We have received 8 inches of snow in the last week to add to the already amazing snow total for your skiing or riding enjoyment. Check out Forest Queen for today's groomers choice. Crested Butte Mountain Resort's snowshoe tour is a unique way to experience the majestic surroundings of Crested Butte. On the tour, you will explore areas of the mountain where few skiers go. You will also learn lessons on the history of the area and qualities of the local ecosystem. Tours last about two and a half hours, and you can expect to hike about two miles. On the tour, you will be supplied with a guide, snowshoes, poles, a lift ride, water, and a light snack. Ninety percent of the tour is downhill or flat, but you will enjoy a great workout along the way. Tours leave daily at 12:30 PM.  Now in its fifth year, Crested Butte Mountain Resort will host their annual spring concert Ski Town Break Down. Formally known as Festevol, this event brings in national talent at an affordable rate; engaging both locals and visiting guests to celebrate spring with live music and a festival village in the base area. There is a concert and lodging deal starting at $115 per person for a night of lodging, lift ticket and a concert ticket to boot!
