"A Holiday Cabaret with Joan Hovarth" is presented by the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre at the Mallardi Cabaret in downtown Crested Butte tonight and tomorrow night only. Good morning skiers and riders and welcome to another "Butte-iful" day! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Today we are looking at clear blue, sunny skies with a high temperature of 33 degrees. We now have a total of 469 acres of terrain open, including the infamous black diamond trail, Resurrection, on East River. Today you can ski and ride a total of 60 trails, including 30 groomed trails. The hand-picked Groomer's Choice for today is International, which is accessible from the Silver Queen Lift. The mountain is 71% open, with 93% beginner and intermediate and 65% advanced. There are 12 lifts open to shuttle you up the mountain and we are happy to report that the Superpipe is slated to open tomorrow. The Superpipe can be accessed by taking the Painter Boy Lift over to Gold Link. Stop by and see locals and guests go lip to lip on the 2012 Superpipe. One of my favorite places to "apres" on the mountain is 9380 Prime. This on-mountain treasure is located slopeside near the Red Lady Express Lift and is named for its elevation at 9,380 feet. Whether you want to saddle up next to the outdoor fire pit and watch the evening roll in or watch the game from a comfortable seat at the expansive bar inside, 9380 will complete your day of skiing and riding.
