Announcements
Good morning skiers and riders. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Saturday, December 31, 2011. On this last day of 2011, we'll be featuring 73% of our total terrain, served up on 60 trails and accessed by 12 of 16 chair lifts. Get out and enjoy "Colorado's Best Corduroy" on 36 trails, including the Groomer's Choice for today, Lower Treasury. We currently have 93% beginner and intermediate terrain open, as well as 65% advanced terrain. The Superpipe in Cascade Park is now open and is a great place to learn handplants and transition skills with the spectacular backdrop of Gothic Mountain and the East River Valley. Today we will have a high of 29 degrees, with a chance of some of that white stuff to fall from the sky. Please be aware of high winds, dress accordingly and watch for any lift and trail closures.

Many moons ago when I moved to Crested Butte, I witnessed my first torchlight parade and winter mountain fireworks. And I haven't missed one since. Tonight is the night for magic on the mountain. When the sun goes down, please join other locals and guests for a true Crested Butte tradition, complete with a torchlight parade followed by fireworks.

If you're not already here ringing in the New Year, we can help you with that. With our Friends and Family Fly Free package, every third airline ticket you purchase is "on the house." Fly nonstop to Gunnison/Crested Butte Airport (GUC) on American Airlines, United Airlines and Continental Airlines from Denver, Dallas or Houston. These free airline tickets are subject to availability and restrictions do apply. This is a screaming deal that you can learn more about by calling Crested Butte Vacations at 1-800-810-7669.

Don't forget to wear a face mask today and stop for lots of hot chocolate breaks! Have a great day and I'll see you on the hill.
