Announcements
Good morning skiers and riders of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. On this 9th day of February in 2012, you can expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures reaching the lower 30's, PLUS there's a great chance for snow for today! Speaking of snow, Crested Butte Mountain has received 3 inches of fresh snow in the last 24 hours, 7 inches in the past week and a total of 74 inches so far this season, creating a soft and powder-packed 41 inch base.

Thanks to the entire mountain crew, 98% of this incredible mountain is open, including 100% of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain and 27% of Crested Butte's extreme terrain. Thirteen lifts will be opening at 9:00 am today, leading you to 86 diverse trails, spread across 770 skiable acres. If it's fast and smooth cruisers you're after, you're in luck, because 59 of those trails have been groomed to perfection by the diligent groomers, who recommend Paradise Bowl as their groomer's choice for the day. In addition to the plethora of trails that are ready to be ridden, 3 terrain parks, including southwestern Colorado's only super pipe, are open and have features and bumps ready to be hit! No matter what you're looking to shred, Crested Butte Mountain's got it all!

After a great day on the slopes, make your way to the Center for the Arts, located in downtown Crested Butte, for a musical celebration by Tom Rush, a.k.a. "The Founding Father of Folk". Mr. Rush will take you on a journey into the tradition and spectrum of what music has been, can be, and will become. The show starts at 8:00 pm and tickets can be purchased at the Center for the Arts. Call (970) 349-7487 for more information.

But before you head down to the town, there's really no better place to kick up your shoes (or boots) than 9380, located at the base of the mountain, where their après menu is almost as good as skiing itself! Enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting by the warming fire pit, all while sipping your favorite beverage alongside a delicious après skiing appetizer or meal. If sitting outdoors is not for you, head on inside, where the couches and ambience will make you want to stay there forever; and they have a bar inside to make sure all of your body is feeling great!

No one ever said skiing is easy, but at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, the award-winning ski instructors know how to teach you how to be a comfortable, confident skier, all while having a great time! And right now, when you book a lodging stay at Crested Butte Mountain Resort for two or more nights, each person on the reservation will receive a free beginner lesson, lift ticket for beginner access to trails and a rental set! Learn how to ski in Paradise for FREE! Just call Crested Butte Vacations at 1.800.810.7669 to get your passion started today!

Happy Thursday, skiers and riders! Make it a great one!
