Good morning to all snow sport enthusiasts at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. We wake this Friday, March 25, 2016 to more snow in the air as we could see some accumulation between now and tomorrow morning! There are no better reasons than a chance for fresh snow and 1,091 acres of skiable terrain, to make you grab the gear and head for the hill for some amazing ski conditions. Look for smooth turns on the 320 acres groomed to Colorado’s Best Corduroy or take it to an extreme on 96% of the expert terrain now open. Crested Butte Mountain has everything for a first time beginner or a well seasoned, advanced skier or rider to have a stellar day on the slopes. So get out and catch a ride on the 15 lifts now spinning to drop you down on 118 diverse trails that are covered in a soft 55 inch base. If carving up a good groomed run is in order for the day, then Groomer’s word is North Pass is the tip top pick.

Join us for apres ski at the Butte 66, located at the base of the Red Lady Lift, for live music, food and drinks! This is where you’ll want to be every Friday afternoon this winter to enjoy live music in an intimate setting. Today’s local talent features Chuck Grossman from 3:30 - 5:30pm.

Tonight is the start of the annual GORE_TEX Grand Traverse. Ski Mountaineering athletes will embark on an extraordinary 40 mile backcountry ski race between Crested Butte and Aspen. The race is a fundraiser for the CB Nordic Center. Watch these athletes take off around 11pm from the base area, as the begin their journey over mountain passes through the night!
