Announcements
Good morning from Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Today is Thursday, December 22, 2016.
We have received over 2 FEET of snow in the last 7 days! This morning will be cloudy with snow on the way this afternoon. We have 385 acres of groomed trails and 695 acres of total open terrain spread out over our 12 open lifts. Now these gifts may not fit under the tree but nothing can beat new opening terrain for Christmas. Headwall and High Lift will open for the season on Sunday, Christmas Day!
From December 18 - December 23, The Rock on Ice team returns to Mt. Crested Butte for an ice carving festival in celebration of the holiday season. Be amazed as two of the world’s most renowned carvers create larger than life sized sculptures of animals, holiday characters and other iconic figures out of blocks of ice. The event will feature daily ice carving demonstrations, including interactive sculptures perfect for family photos and a dazzling ice sculpture garden in the Courtyard at Mountaineer Square.
Ho Ho Ho! This Saturday, Christmas Eve at 5 pm, watch from the Butte 66 deck as Santa comes down the mountain in a sleigh pulled by a snowcat! Get in the holiday spirit as he hands out candy canes to all the good little girls and boys. Then stay to watch the Crested Butte Ski and Ride School perform their famous torchlight parade down the front side of the mountain at 5:30 pm. Photos with Santa and his helper will be available immediately following the torchlight parade inside Spellbound Pizza.
This holiday season, give the gift of snow with a gift card from Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Gift cards can be used on lift tickets, in our retail stores or on food!
That’s all for your Thursday morning snow report! Make sure to get here for all the new terrain this weekend!

Today marks the first day Uley’s Cabin is open for Sleigh Ride Dinners. Depart from the base area in a snowcat sleigh, dine in a warmly lit cabin in the woods and enjoy an experience that is both adventurous and comforting! Find out more online at skicb.com/uleys.

It looks like Mother Nature will be delivering the gift of snow! The forecast is calling for snow starting tomorrow and continuing through the weekend. Stay tuned for more and from all of us at CBMR happy holidays!
