Bluebird skies, new terrain, and lots of pow is what to expect out of this Friday, February 1, 2013 at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Powder Hound here, barking out another superb snow report that is sure to make you holler TGIF! The last push of this system dropped another inch of the fresh in the last 24, making that 3 inches in the last 48 hours and 22 inches in the last 7 days! That puts our season total now at 105 inches and will allow the North Face lift to crank up its wheels today at 12 PM! The following terrain will open: Avery, Belleview, Rachel’s, Hawk’s Nest, The Last Steep, Sock it to Me Ridge, The North Face, and the Glades. Per our beacon policy, the first 50 people with beacons will be allowed to enter the terrain first, then Ski Patrol will begin alternating those with beacons and those without in the lift lines. Our rope drop and beacon policy can be found here: http://www.skicb.com/cbmr/info/mountain/beacon-policy.aspx. Enjoy 96% of our mountain that is ready for your riding enjoyment, 100% of it being beginner, intermediate, and advanced! A full 82 trails are now accessible and if you love corduroy, then you will be happy to know that our groomers have worked tirelessly to bring you 59 perfectly groomed runs! 11 lifts are currently spinning their wheels to drop you on 552 acres of sweet, soft snow with a base that has settled in at 40 inches. Get out and soak up the sunny skies and 29 *F temps, as they are calling for more snow by next week! For some sick turns, hit up Paradise Bowl, which the groomers are calling their Choice today!

After you ski downhill all day, break out your Nordic gear along with your best costume and get downtown for the first ever Alley Loop Pub Ski! Register today for $15 and grab a game card that you will use to answer trivia questions or play a game at 6 different bars in the hopes of racking up points that will earn you a prize at the end of it all! Costumes get you extra points! Round up your friends or go it alone, either way good times will be had! Pub ski starts at 5:30 pm. For more information, log on to www.cbnordic.org.

Don’t miss this last opportunity to register for the 27th Annual Alley Loop Nordic Marathon today from 3-7 pm at the Visitors Center.
