Get out and enjoy the sunny skies at Crested Butte Mountain Resort today, Saturday, February 2, 2013. This is your friendly Powder Hound digging up the info for you to know before you hit the hill! This last system gave us 1 inch over the last 48 hours and 21 inches in the last 7 days! Hop a ride on any of the 12 lifts cranking their wheels to drop you on 718 amazing acres, 295 of which are groomed up in our best corduroy. Our base is measuring in at 40 inches and you are sure to find a powder stash or two along any one of the 85 trails currently open. We have fun for all skill levels, as 95% our mountain is available with 100% of that being beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain and 31% of the extremes now accessible. A temperature of 30*F will keep you nice and comfy as you cruise the mountain all day long. Be sure to point the skis toward Treasury, as the Groomers have given it the choice award today! After the 27th Annual Alley Loop, grab the downhill gear and head up the hill to check out the second annual FUSE Snowskate Derby being held at the Cascade Terrain Park from 12-3:30. Come experience this one of a kind contest that borrows scoring and some other elements from golf. Goofy pants are encouraged but not required! Do not put the costume box away just yet. Grab the bell bottoms and join internationally acclaimed freestyle skiing legend, Wayne Wong, for a 2 day Learn Right from Wong ski clinic being held next weekend. This amazing experience is $399 for new attendees with a discount for returning clinic participants. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 970-349-2222.
