Announcements
Hey there skiers and riders! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Monday, December 27, 2010. Big news for all you expert skiers and riders. The High Lift will be opening today and more terrain will be accessible throughout the day. Please remember that the newly-adopted rope drop policy is now in effect. Complete details can be found at skicb.com/ropedrop and thank you in advance for cooperating with CBMR's efforts to provide safe travel in avalanche prone terrain on the mountain.

Now on to the rest of the report...
In the last 24 hours, we have received 4 inches of new snow, bringing our snow total for this winter season to 173 inches. In just the last 7 days, we have received over a foot of snow bringing our base to 62 inches at the top and 52 inches at midway. Today every lift on the mountain, (that's 16 if you're counting!) will be shuttling stoked skiers and riders to their pick of 92 trails among 701 acres of accessible terrain. The groomed terrain was EXCELLENT out on the hill yesterday, and from 420 acres of "Colorado's Best Corduroy," the mountain team has chosen Upper Ruby Chief as the Groomer's Choice today.

If you're not quite sure how to navigate some of our terrain, you will be glad to know that our Ski and Ride School is top of the line. Join a group class or get some one-on-one time with one of our expert instructors by stopping by the Axtel Building just behind the Silver Queen Lift or call the Ski School toll free at 1-800-444-9236. We'll be able to hook you up with a half or full-day session that will quickly ensure that you enjoy skiing and riding on the hill and avoid frustration or pesky injuries.

If you're back to the work grind today, then be sure to grab a quick break on the hill. If you are enjoying your winter vacation in the Butte, keep on smiling because believe it or not, there's more Butteness on the way.

Have a great day. I'll see you on the hill.
