Special Announcements
After the Adventure Park closes, you and your kids will be ready for the evening festivities to begin. Please join us for our annual New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade and fireworks display. It all goes down at dusk. Watch a stream of expert skiers and snowboarders cruise all the way from the top of the Silver Queen to the base area with torches in hand. Then prepare yourself for a fireworks display that will knock your ski socks off. This is a great Crested Butte tradition and a great way to ring in 2011; crowds gather at the base area and the Butte 66 deck. Don't miss it!

ood morning powder hounds and snow bunnies. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on the LAST day of 2010. I honestly can't think of any better way to ring in the New Year than skiing powder-ific conditions in the Butte. If powder's what you want, then powder's what you'll get. In the last 24 hours, we've received two inches of snow and in the last two days, we've gotten 13 inches of the light and fluffy. This entire season has brought us 186 inches of snow- I've been keeping track- and given us a powder and packed powder base of 63 inches.

100% of our Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Terrain is open as well as 60% of our Extreme Terrain. The mountain is "full-on" with all 16 of our lifts up and running and an even 100 trails to ski and ride. Altogether, Crested Butte Mountain Resort has provided 1036 acres of accessible terrain, including 400 groomed acres. If you are a groomer extraordinaire, then you will be glad to know that the Groomer's Choice for today is Upper Ruby Chief.

This snow storm has been accompanied by some colder temperatures, so be sure to hit up the base area and hotel ski apparel stores if you need to bundle up. Whether you're looking for colder temperature hats, gloves or socks, or ready to purchase new jacket and pants, you'll find what you need at our base area stores. And don't you just love when you have choices? Try out Elevation Station in the Elevation Hotel, White Room Apparel in the Treasury Building or Thin Air Sports in Mountaineer Square.

Today would be a great day for the kids to get an Adventure Pass to go along with their lift ticket. Adventure Passes and day tickets can be purchased through the Ticket Center in Mountaineer Square and are good for entertaining the kids as many days as you like with four great outdoor activities. From 1pm to 5 pm, kiddos can enjoy the bungee trampoline, climbing wall, ice skating rink and tubing hill while you hit the Ice Bar for a homemade Bloody Mary that is actually mixed with bacon-infused vodka. You heard me right folks. All you have to do is remember four things today...children- Adventure Pass, Ice Bar- bacon vodka.

That's all from me today folks. This is the Snow Betty wishing you a very Happy New Year. I'll see you on the hill.
