Good morning ski bunnies and powder hounds! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Wednesday, December 14, 2011.

Well, the storm we have been waiting for has finally arrived. In the last 24 hours, we have received 2 inches of new snow, and it is still falling outside. All forecasters suggest that we can expect snow throughout the day today and into this evening and it is likely to snow through Friday. At this time, we have 5 lifts shuttling skiers and riders up to a total of 46 trails on 317 acres of terrain, including 24 groomed trails. Our Groomer's Choice for today is Paradise Bowl. 50% of our beginner and intermediate terrain as well as 51% of our advanced terrain is calling those skis and snowboards to a 21 inch base at the top and a 15 inch base at midway. Conditons are packed powder and man-made, and I think it's safe to say there will be a fun, light layer of powder to play on today. The high temp for today is 29 and the low is 2 degrees.

Now, for the other reasons you should come to Crested Butte...

Have you heard about the Zip Line at Crested Butte Mountain Resort? All over town people are talking about it. If you're ready to fly through the air and among the treetops on the new Crested Butte Zip Line Tour, visit the Adventure Center or call 970-349-2211. Tours meet at the yurt, located by the kids’ learning area and from what I've heard, even I am not going to miss this 2-hour, flying excursion for only $59. I recommend the same for you!

Well, that's all from me today, folks. Have a great Wednesday and I'll see you on the hill!
