Announcements
Happy Sunday from your Snow Betty on December 17th 2011. With a high of 39*F today and sunshine it is going to be a wonderful day on the hill. We have 3 new lifts open this weekend including West Wall, Painter Boy and the Tubing Park lift bringing you access to 340 acres of open skiable terrain with the addition of Buckley, T-Bar Road and Splain's Gulch. Snowmaking operations are working on Lower Canaan for Nastar and the Boarder Cross Course and the Painter Boy and Cascade Terrain Parks. Work will begin tomorrow on building these features and they are expected to open later this week.We have 71% of our beginner and intermediate terrain open and 50% of our advanced terrain now open. There are 48 trails open with 27 groomed trails of Colorado's Best Corduroy. The Groomer's Choice trail today is Upper Keystone.

World Snowboard Day is today! There will be USASA Slalom races today with one of them banked slalom format open to public.  There will also be an Ollie contest, a vintage board division (pre 1990), and a switch race to round out the day of snowboarding.  Demos will be available throughout the day followed by an après party at Butte 66 with live music from Justin Howard. Also, the Rock on Ice team returns to Mt Crested Butte for an ice carving festival in celebration of the holiday season. Be amazed as two of the world’s most renowned carvers create larger than life sized sculptures of animals, holiday characters and other iconic figures out of blocks of ice. The event will feature daily ice carving demonstrations, including interactive sculptures perfect for family photos, and a dazzling ice sculpture garden in the outdoor courtyard at Mountaineer Square until Dec 21st.
