Good morning skiers and riders and welcome to another "Butte-iful" weekend! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Today we are looking at clear blue, sunny skies with a high temperature of 35 degrees. We now have a total of 503 acres of terrain open, including 300 groomed acres. Today you can ski and ride a total of 67 trails, with 49 trails of "Colorado's Best Corduroy." The hand-picked Groomer's Choice for today is Treasury, which is accessible from the Paradise Lift. The mountain is 79% open, with 93% beginner and intermediate and 40% advanced terrain. There are 12 lifts open to get you around the mountain and we are happy to report that the Prospect lift and Pine Conveyor will be up and running again today for the weekend.
Be sure to stop by the Cascade Terrain Park today and tomorrow and watch snowboarders from the USASA compete in the halfpipe and slopestyle competitions. See men and women of all ages in their first Southwest Colorado competition of the 2012 winter season.
Take some time off the slopes to fly through and among the tree tops on the new Crested Butte Zip Line Tour. Complete with a practice area and 5 zip lines ranging from 200-300 feet connected by suspended wood bridges and towering platforms. This 2 hour excursion will be simply unforgettable for only $59 per person and can be arranged by calling 970-349-2221.
Experience ALL the fun in the base area with the Base Area Advantage Package! Combine your zipline tour with unlimited access to the Adventure Park for just $65 plus tax.
