Happy MARDI GRAS skiers and riders!! There's plenty of celebrating Fat Tuesday throughout the day at Crested Butte. Spend the mid day hours on the deck of Paradise Warming House, where KBUT will be broadcasting live, while the Warming House staff will be creating delectable jambalaya. In addition, the grill will be sizzling from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with foods to suit everyone's taste buds. A happy Tuesday morning skiers and riders of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Today is the 21st day in February of 2012 and it's looking like it's going to be another fabulous day on the slopes, as 5 inches of snow have fallen in the past 48 hours, 1 of which fell overnight, creating a soft and deependable 47 inch base. In addition to phenomenal snow conditions, the weather isn't looking too shabby either as there is a good chance for snow today and lasting through the week, with temperatures reaching a comfortable 30 degrees. Celebrate Mardi Gras with beads, fun and of course some unbelievable shredding on Crested Butte Mountain; and thanks to the entire mountain crew, 98% of the mountain is open, including 100% of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain, as well as 60% of Crested Butte's extreme terrain. The 95 open trails can be accessed by the 14 lifts that will begin spinning at 9:00 am, with 70 of those slopes being perfectly groomed, by the hard working groomers, who recommend Jokerville as their groomer's choice of the day.
